2018 // a year in review
these year in review blog posts have become one of my favorite traditions of the new year. this is my 6th year intentionally going through every folder of images from the year and trying to narrow it down to the very best photos from my client work as well as memories from all that happened during the year.
this year has been full—of so many things. life, joy, laughter, love, hard work, job transitions, travel and so much more. i started out the year in the desert with some of my best friends, and soon after traveled home to phoenix to welcome another precious niece into the family. i ended the year taking the month of december off—to find rest and refreshment before another busy year begins.
all of the in between was filled with—more flights than i can count, visiting family in indiana 2 times (and getting to meet my cousin’s first baby), taking the most incredible trip to italy with my cousin mollie, driving down to mexico multiple times to help my roommate brittany move, trips with amazing people to colorado, , new york, arizona, pennsylvania, washington and everywhere in between, a full year of climbing, making meals together with friends, falling in love with an incredible human, feeling supported and loved by friends and family in all of my ventures. it’s been a good, good year.
the year wasn’t without it’s challenges. it was the busiest year i’ve had so far work-wise, and i experienced the weight of too many commitments, the stress of deadlines and feeling like i couldn’t do it all. i quit a part time job i really enjoyed to focus fully on photography this upcoming year. i learned how to dig into community & relationships in new and difficult ways and forced myself to slow down in december to bring rest and recovery after a crazy year.
i had the honor to document 15 weddings this year, as well as countless families and couples. the privilege of having people invite me in on times that are filled with such joy is not something i take for granted. thank you to all of the clients who welcomed me in like family, allowed me to capture your light and love and all your joy. thank you for entrusting me with the telling of your stories. seeing the way you love is inspiring and brings me so much joy in doing this job.
praying you all experience more of God’s goodness & joy in 2019. enjoy these photos from the past year!
