adventure // pacific coast highway roadtrip

my cousin mollie came to visit me from indiana, and we decided to go on a little road trip to explore the coast of california. the first day we made it to big sur, stopping all along the way, amazed by the incredible coastline! we stopped at mcway falls, pfeiffer state beach, and lots of other overlooks. that night, we stayed in a little cabin in riverside campground, which was a beautiful campground in the woods. the next day, we headed up to san fransisco, stopping at bixby bridge & a little stand to buy some fresh strawberries. the rest of the day was spent exploring up and down the streets of san fransisco. we walked around pier 39, chinatown, ate lunch at an amazing little italian place called nob hill cafe, and then rode the trolley back down to see the golden gate bridge. that night we stayed in a cute little airbnb apartment in berkeley, and stopped at flour & co cafe the next morning for breakfast before we left. on the third day, we drove up to a town called elk, california. we explored through the redwoods of hendy woods state park, collected rocks on navarro beach, and ate dinner at a grocery store deli in the town of elk. that night, we stayed in the most magical little airbnb in the woods. we walked in to candles burning and a record player playing. we read our books & enjoyed the cabin. the next morning, we woke up early to enjoy the banana zucchini bread and coffee that our amazing hosts left for us. the last day was spent driving 11 hours back down to los angeles, stopping only for gas and in-n-out. we made it home that night exhausted, but it was an incredible trip.
